Statoil’s deputy chairman joins Amec Foster Wheeler

Amec Foster Wheeler has appointed Roy Franklin as an independent non-executive director, with effect from January 1, 2016.

As said in an Amec Foster Wheeler’s announcement on Friday, Franklin will be a member of the Nominations Committee.

He is currently chairman of Keller Group plc, deputy chairman of Statoil ASA and he is a non-executive director of Santos Ltd. He has previously served on the boards of OMV Group and Boart Longyear Ltd. He is also currently chairman of Cuadrilla Resources Holdings Ltd.

During his 30 years as an executive in the oil and gas industry Roy spent 18 years at BP, latterly as Head of M&A, BP Exploration, after which he was Group MD of Clyde Petroleum and then CEO of Paladin Resources until its acquisition by Talisman Energy in 2005. Since then he has served on a number of international energy company boards in non-executive roles.

John Connolly, Chairman, said: “I look forward to Roy bringing more than 40 years’ oil and gas experience to our board when he joins in the new year.”
