Strategic Marine has appointed Rob Osborn as General Manager for Fabrication and Engineering.

According to Strategic Marine, a specialist shipbuilding and engineering company, the appointment of Rob Osborn represents company’s strategic move into a new growth phase in the marine infrastructure, modular fabrication and engineering area.

Reece Newbold, Group’s Business Development Manager, said:

“Rob comes to us with great experience in the project and contracting business, with responsibilities ranging from project identification, funding and development, commercial negotiation, oversight of engineering, direct responsibility for procurement, project management, and oversight of all operations.”

Newbold added Osborn’s appointment represents company’s ambition to reinforce its commitment to fabrication and engineering, with the special accent on modular manufacturing for the maritime and mining industries.

Osborn will be based in Vietnam where he will lead the team at the company’s manufacturing facility, Strategic Marine’s press release reads.

Strategic Marine operates principally in five sectors, producing crew boats, wind farm service vessels, passenger ferries, patrol boats and modular steel products for global infrastructure, renewables and mining markets.

Strategic Marine built three buoyant actuators for Carnegie’s Perth Wave Energy Project that was connected to the Australian grid in February, 2015.
