Stril Explorer to Remove Gwynt y Môr FLIDAR Buoys

Mariners are advised that over the Easter weekend (4th-5th April 2015) the vessel Stril Explorer is due to arrive at the Gwynt y Môr windfarm to remove the 3 FLIDAR moorings on the seabed.

The 76.4 meters long Multi Purpose Support Vessel will conduct the operations during daylight and should take no longer than a few hours.

Two buoys were deployed to mark the location of the anchors that remain on the seabed. The two buoys are yellow, measuring approximately 1.2m in diameter and 1.8m in height.

Both buoys are on the eastern edge of the windfarm site, approximately 250-300m to the southeast of the Gwynt y Môr meteorological mast.

All vessel traffic is asked to keep at least 500 meters clear of the vessel when it is engaged in operations. The vessel can be contacted on VHF Channel 16 at all times.
