Subsea 7 names new EVP of strategy and commercial

Subsea 7 said on Monday that Øyvind Mikaelsen, a Norwegian citizen, would step down from his role as Executive Vice President of Commercial. He will leave the company in the second quarter of 2018.

Mikaelsen has held the position in June 2016. He joined Subsea 7 in 1992 from Shell. Before his EVP Commercial post, he held a variety of positions.

He will be succeeded by Stuart Fitzgerald on January 1, 2018, who will be appointed as the executive vice president of strategy and commercial and will be a member of the executive management team, the subsea engineering and construction services company said.

Fitzgerald, who is currently the vice president for strategy and technology, will assume the responsibility for the commercial activities of the SURF and Conventional Business Unit as well as Asset Development, Sales and Marketing, Strategy and Technology, and the Alliances.
