Subsea Cable Damage Affects Broadband Customers on Isle of Wight, UK

An undersea cable damage caused a distruption for hundereds of phone and broadband users on the Isle of Wight.

The damaged submarine cable between Portsmouth and Ryde on the Isle of Wight has affected around 600 customers.

“We have been working since this morning to restore service to those impacted. Many customers have already seen their service restored and we will continue working until all customers have service again”, Isle of Wight Radio quoted BT spokesperson as saying.

We are sorry for the obvious inconvenience, our engineers are working as quickly as they can and we are also investigating the cause of the damage,” they added.
