Subsea Innovation Builds LARS for SMD

Subsea Innovation has completed the design and manufacture of two of its Launch & Recovery Systems (LARS) for SMD in Newcastle.

These are the first systems that Subsea Innovation has produced for SMD, a designer and manufacturer of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), who have recently been acquired by Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric Co.

These systems are currently on their way to China where they will be commissioned immediately for active service. The model of LARS that has been delivered is a HF-135 Mk. III, which has been designed for a Safe Working Load of 15 tonnes has been supplied complete with a hydraulic umbilical winch.
