Subsea UK Conference to Examine Potential Outlook of Subsea Sector

The past, present and future of the subsea industry will be examined and discussed at a Subsea UK event in Woking next month.

The Back to the Future of Subsea conference will consider the potential outlook of the subsea sector, drawing upon developments over the past 20 years and explore what the fourth industrial revolution in subsea may bring.

During the one-day conference, delegates will get the opportunity to hear from experts on a variety of topics including, the digital oilfield, pipeline design engineering, pipe-in-pipe technology and mooring systems.

Confirmed speakers for the event include Steve Sasanow of Knighton Enterprises, Peter Hayward of TechnipFMC, Justin Jones of Petrofac, Geoff Lyons of BPP-TECH, Andreas Dracoulis from Haynes and Boone, Dem Demetriou of Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants, David Brunton of Crondall Energy, Johnny Shield of Subsea Riser Products, Glen Jewell of Frazer-Nash Consultancy and Gareth Davis from Eigen Limited.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “Over the last 20 years, the subsea industry has experienced significant changes in technology, safety and overall operations. We must now build further resilience into our sector by going back to recapture the pioneering spirit from years gone by, moving confidently and profitably into a sustainable future.

“To ensure the UK continues to lead the way in subsea innovation and technology, awareness of previous events and knowledge is essential. Reflecting on 20 years of subsea allows the industry to learn and plan for what lies ahead. I hope this event will help address some of current and future challenges facing the supply chain and reinforce best practice across the industry.”
