Subsea UK Event to Bring Supply Chain and End Users Together

Subsea UK in partnership with the National Subsea Research Initiative (NSRI), will be running the first in its series of Subsea Springboard events to help connect subsea companies with end-users, highlighting the products and services currently available to them.

Nine companies from across the country will each be allocated a seven minute slot to pitch their subsea offerings to a panel of operators and Tier 1 contractors including Apache, Bibby Offshore, Chevron, EnQuest, Nexen, Shell, Total and Technip.

The focus of the pitches will be to highlight the technologies, processes and software which have the potential to address the immediate and future needs of the oil and gas industry by improving efficiency.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK said: “Industry could improve efficiency by implementing some of the existing, less mainstream technologies and processes which could be readily implemented to enhance subsea operations.

“We hope this event will help to identify the most relevant contacts and collaborations needed to align our efforts with the current market environment and deliver the improvements and savings the industry really needs to secure a sustainable long-term future.”

The event will welcome speakers from Apollo, Apsys, Astrimar, EC-OG, GE Oil and Gas, 2H Offshore, NETmc Marine and Proserv, who will explore the range of technologies which can help lower operational costs, improve integrity management, extend field life, reduce risks and maximise data collection.

“Some companies simply aren’t aware of the pool of expertise available to them and the benefits that can be gained from exploring different offerings currently on the market. By bringing the supply chain and end users together, we hope to bridge this gap and encourage the uptake of current, cost-effective technologies which can improve efficiencies and speed up project delivery times,” Gordon added.

Subsea Springboard events should take place every three months, addressing a number of industry themes and topics. The first Subsea Springboard event will take place on Thursday 15th September at Village Hotel, Prime Four, Kingswells, Aberdeen.
