Subsea work for Gulf of America’s oil project drops in KOIL’s lap

Houston-based subsea energy equipment and services specialist KOIL Energy Solutions, formerly Deep Down, has lined up a new deepwater assignment for a hydrocarbon project in the Gulf of America (the U.S. Gulf of Mexico) with an undisclosed oil company.

While describing the award as a significant contract to supply a subsea distribution system for a deepwater project in the Gulf of America, KOIL Energy explains that it will manufacture the subsea umbilical termination assemblies (SUTAs), hydraulic distribution manifolds (HDMs), steel tube flying leads (STFLs), mudmat structures, and ancillary hardware for this subsea tie-back project.

The Texan player’s service team will integrate and test the system, incorporating its manufactured equipment alongside equipment from other subsea suppliers. This system will tie back to an existing field and control additional underwater assets such as pipeline end manifold (PLEMs) and trees.

The company’s scope of work for this project entails engineering, procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing, which will be carried out at its manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. The final delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026, with an option for offshore installation services included as well.

The latest deal comes months after KOIL obtained another contract in the Gulf of America to supply six steel tube flying leads and associated equipment.
