Sweden: E.ON Selects Liquiline for LCNG Filling Station

Liquiline annonced that it has entered into a contract with E.ON, one of the world’s largest private energy companies, for delivery of a newly developed public gas filling station for cars and taxis in Stockholm.

The agreement has been signed with E.ON’s Swedish subsdiary, E.ON Gas Sverige AB, which builds and operates fueling stations and pipeline distribution for biogas and natural gas in Sweden. The new station will be E. ON Gas Sweden’s first so-called “LCNG station”, where the gas will be supplied with either liquid natural gas (LNG) or liquefied biogas (LBG), and will then be converted into high pressure compressed gas. The station solution is newly developed by Liquiline, and is unique in its kind in that it is designed with requirements including high uptime and ease of operation.

“It is with great pleasure that we receive this order from such a large and reputable company as E.ON. That we won the contract in competition with international companies shows Liquiline’s expertise in both liquid and compressed gases, and the company’s ability to design turn-key solutions based on demanding customer requirements” says Dag Lilletvedt, CEO and founder of Liquiline.

In addition to this being a technology and energy project, it is also an environmental project. That cars and taxis in Stockholm can be driving on biogas or natural gas instead of gasoline and diesel fuel contributes towards reduced emissions of CO2, NOx, SOx and particulates. The station will contribute in bringing in needed gas into Stockholm, the capitol of Sweden.

Lilletvedt further says that “The agreement is an important step in internationalising Liquiline, and reaffirms our position as a specialist in transport and storage of liquefied gases. The agreement also comes with options for additional filling stations and maintenance service, and is thus an opportunity for further growth in both Sweden and other countries in which E.ON operates.”
