SwissMarine Hires Newcastlemax Duo from Diana Shipping

Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contracts with Geneva-based SwissMarine Services for two of its Newcastlemax bulkers.

Under the agreements, the company’s secured work for its 2017-built Newport News and the 2012-built Los Angeles.

Featuring 208,021 dwt, the Newport News was hired at a gross charter rate of USD 16,500 per day, for a period of sixteen to nineteen months. The charter was expected to commence on February 25.

Diana Shipping’s 206,104 dwt Los Angeles is already chartered by SwissMarine Services until March 3 at a rate of USD 19,150 per day. The charter extension would start following the end of the previous charter contract and would see the vessel earn USD 13,250 per day for a period of fifteen to eighteen months.

The company informed that the newly secured contracts are expected to generate around USD 13.88 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
