Taiwan: May LNG Imports Climb

Taiwan imported 1.18 million mt of LNG in May, up 7.1% from the same month a year before, according to customs data.

Most of the May LNG came from Qatar and Malaysia, followed by Nigeria, Indonesia, Egypt and Yemen.

The country’s average LNG import cost in May was $14.42/MMBtu, down 5.3% from May 2012.

Taiwan has two LNG import terminals, Yung An and Taichung liquefied natural gas terminal.
