Tankerska Next Generation Secures Work for MR2 Ship

Croatian joint stock shipping company Tankerska Next Generation has secured a one-year employment for MT Velebit, one of its medium-range 2 (MR2) ships.

The conventional ice-class product tanker will be chartered out to an unnamed party at approximately USD 14,500 per day.

Additionally, the charterer has an option to extend the contract for an additional eight months at approximately USD 15,500 per day, according to the company.

The 52,600 dwt vessel will start its employment immediately, Tankerska Next Generation said.

Built at 3 Maj shipyard in 2011, Velebit currently has a market value of USD 21.37 million, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Earlier this month, the company also found work for one of its ECO class product tankers. The 12-month employment is scheduled to commence in mid-March, with the vessel being chartered at USD 16,000 per day.

Based in Zadar, Tankerska Next Generation has a fleet of six MR2 vessels of which two are ice-class and four ECO product tankers. The fleet has a total capacity of 307,100 dwt and a value of USD 171.3 million.
