Under a contract defined as significant, TechnipFMC will design, manufacture, and install flexible risers, flowlines, and associated hardware for the Captain development, located approximately 145 kilometers north-east of Aberdeen, Scotland, in the Outer Moray Firth, in water depths of around 105.5 meters.

Discovered in 1977 in Block 13/22a, the field achieved first production in March 1997. According to TechnipFMC, Captain has benefited from technology enhancements since first production, including the second phase of an enhanced oil recovery project it supported in 2024.

The company says that a “significant” contract is one worth between $75 million and $250 million.

Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, said: “TechnipFMC has supported Ithaca on several subsea developments for more than a decade. We collaborated on the Captain field to optimize the layout and provide a flexible riser solution that can enhance production. We look forward to strengthening our relationship and helping enable their future development and expansion ambitions.”
