The duo is set for delivery in 2021, according to the data from Asiasis. Price details of the order have not been revealed.

World Maritime News approached Teekay for a comment, but the company’s spokesperson said it could not confirm the order.

“As always we will continue to balance the size of our fleet with anticipated tonnage requirements and inform the markets accordingly once a firm order has been placed,” the statement reads.

The reported order comes on the back of a contract signed between the duo back in August 2017 covering two firm and two optional units.

Back in November, Teekay Offshore declared options for the two optionl Suezmax-sized, DP2 shuttle tanker newbuildings.

The construction cost of the quartet was set at approximately USD 265 million, according to Teekay Offshore.

The newbuildings will be constructed based on the company’s Shuttle Spirit design and will feature LNG propulsion technology. The quartet is scheduled for delivery in 2020 when they will join Teekay Offshore’s Contract of Affreightment (CoA) fleet in the North Sea.
