Tendeka to Present Importance of Completion Technology Development at SPE Aberdeen

Advanced completion technology covers a powerful range of equipment and techniques in the oil and gas industry and is set to be the focus at Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Aberdeen Section evening meeting later this month.

Annabel Green

Annabel Green, product line director at Tendeka, the provider of completions systems and services to the upstream oil and gas industry, is to discuss the developments in recent years and why technology in this field must keep up with the advancing pace of the subsea and drilling sectors.

Ms. Green said: “Subsea and drilling technologies continue to advance at a rapid rate and it is crucial that completion technology keeps pace. North Sea-based companies have a legacy of delivering advanced completion technologies, and it is important that they continue to develop new solutions for extended reach wells, brownfield and marginal field developments and multi-lateral wells.”

Anthony Onukwu, chairman of SPE Aberdeen, said: “SPE Aberdeen is well known for hosting presentations which cover some of most high profile topics in the industry. The North Sea is considered by many as home to advanced completion technology, due to the harsh and challenging operating environment in this region. This technical meeting promises to be highly informative for oil and gas industry professionals who are working in this region, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share best practices. Ms. Green’s presentation not only demonstrates SPE Aberdeen’s commitment to sharing technical knowledge, but also highlights how the industry gender balance is showing signs of improvement, with a number of women reaching senior positions within the oil and gas sector.”

In her position at Tendeka, Ms. Green is responsible for the development and commercialisation of wireless technologies. She holds a degree in mechanical engineering, several patents and has co-authored a number of SPE papers in the fields of completion technology and sand management.

The technical presentation will take place from 6.30 to 8.30pm on 26 February at the Douglas Hotel, Aberdeen.
