TenneT Seeks Certification for 2GW HVDC Platform Design

TenneT TSO has issued a tender seeking a certifying authority for the basic design of its 2GW HVDC offshore stations.

TenneT has committed a FEED study to develop a standardized basic design for its future 2GW HVDC offshore stations, which will consist of a typical topside and jacket located in the Dutch part of the North sea.

According to the tender, the platform will be designed in accordance with Dutch Law and design codes typically applicable in the Dutch Sector, generally following DNVGL rules.

The certification of the basic design shall be carried out in accordance with DNVGL ST0145 and DNVGL SE0073.

The contract is set to start on 3 February 2020 and end on 1 May 2021. In case basic design has not been finished in time, TenneT might decide to extend this contract.

The deadline for submitting applications for the tender is 20 January 2020 by 11:00 local time.
