Tepco, Chubu issue first joint LNG supply tender

Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric issued an international tender for the supply of LNG. 

This is the first time since agreeing cooperation that the two companies have jointly requested LNG supply bids, Tokyo Electric spokesperson told Reuters.

According to the spokesman, 60 invitations have been sent to global LNG suppliers on December 12, with bids due by Friday. The decision on the suppliers will be reached in January.

The price levels as well as the volumes of LNG the utilities are seeking remained unknown.
