Tepco June LNG imports down YoY

Japan’s utility Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) said its imports of LNG in June totalled 1.87 million tonnes, a drop of 0.6 percent compared to the same month last year.

The utility used 1.80 million tonnes of LNG, up 0.6 percent when compared to June in 2014, according to fuel consumption data released by Tepco on Monday.

In April-June period, Tepco bought 5.30 million tonnes and consumed 5.13 million tonnes of LNG.

Tepco is Japan’s first importer of the chilled fuel, and it imports LNG from projects located in Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Qatar, Darwin, Oman, Russia and Papua New Guinea.
