Tepco’s April LNG imports slide

Japan’s utility Tokyo Electric Power said its imports of LNG in April were at 1.67 million tonnes, down 16.8 percent compared to April last year.

The utility used 1.65 million tonnes of LNG in April,  a drop of 8.2 percent as compared to a year ago.

In April-March period, Tepco bought 24.75 million tonnes and consumed 23.49 million tonnes of LNG.

Tepco is Japan’s first importer of the chilled fuel, and it imports LNG from projects located around the globe.
