Tepco’s January LNG imports rise

Japan’s utility Tokyo Electric Power said its imports of LNG in January were at 2.28 million tonnes, up 2.9 percent compared to 2.21 million tonnes in January of 2014.

The utility used 2.1 million tonnes of LNG in January, as compared to 2.01 million tonnes it consumed in the same month last year.

In April-January period, Tepco bought 20.57 million tonnes and consumed 19.53 million tonnes of LNG.

Tepco is Japan’s first importer of the chilled fuel, and it imports LNG from projects located around the globe.
