Texas LNG pre-filing process initiated

Texas LNG’s request for the initiation of the pre-filing environmental review for its proposed facility has been approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Texas LNG plans to construct a 4 million tonne per annum liquefied natural gas facility on a 625-acre site in the Port of Brownsville, Texas. This facility would receive natural gas via an intrastate natural gas pipeline to be constructed from the Agua Dulce natural gas hub approximately 150 miles north of Brownsville. The project would liquefy the natural gas, store, and deliver it to LNG carriers for export overseas.

FERC said in its notice that Texas LNG intends to file an application before November 2015.

Perennial Environmental Services have been selected as a third-party contractor to assist FERC in preparing the National Environmental Policy Act documentation.
