The Netherlands: Airborne Composites Constructs Tocardo's Composite Blades

Airborne Composites announced that Tocardo International has recently granted Airborne Composites the “preferred supplier” status for the Tocardo composite blades. A first set of blades is now under construction for a challenging overseas project and more blades will follow soon for world wide supply.

Airborne has the vision and goal to design, engineer and manufacture the best optimized functional blades of the tidal industry. With this agreement in place, both parties strengthen their positions in order to become a world class player in the new emerging market of tidal energy.

In 2011 first contacts were made between Airborne Composites and Tocardo International. This involved the discussion about the design, engineering and manufacturing of the Tocardo composite tidal blades for her in-stream river and tidal energy device.

Tocardo International, a young and ambitious water turbine company is based in The Netherlands and is to become a world-wide operating and leading player in the tidal industry. Tocardo International has identified Airborne Composites with their excellent experience and composite know-how as a unique company that could achieve their challenging task of design, engineer and manufacture reliable and robust composite blades for her innovative tidal energy technology.
