Newbuild 'Amerstroom' Christened at Neptune Shipyards

On Friday, March 22nd, Neptune Shipyards B.V. christened the yard number NP 424 named “Amerstroom” for van Wijngaarden Marine Services B.V.

The Amerstroom is a Standard Eurotug 2300 from the Neptune Shipyards B.V. – Hardinxveld-Giessendam / Aalst, Netherlands. The vessel has a length of 23.68 meters, width of 8.75 meters and a depth of 3.25 meters. Her minimum draft is 2.20 meters and maximum 2.65 meters. She has a displacement of maximum 230 tonnes a gross weight of 165 tonnes and a nrt of 49 ton.

This multifunctional tug is built with towing, mooring, pushing, anchor handling, dredge support and supply basic functions. She is classed Bureau Veritas I Hull Mach, Tug Unrestricted Navigation, AUT UMS Dutch Shipping Inspection Unrestricted navigation / SPI –Certificate.

Sponsor lady Mrs S.M. Verduijn-de Visser, spouse of van Wijngaarden’s Technical Superintendent christened the Eurotug 2300 “Amerstroom”. The tug was handed over by Neptune Shipyard director Mr. Martin de Kok to Mr. W. van Wijngaarden the owner of Van Wijngaarden Marine Services. BV. – Sliedrecht, Netherlands.
