The Netherlands: Vroon Expands its Fleet with New AHTS Vessel

The Netherlands Vroon Expands its Fleet with New AHTS Vessel

Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) has added new AHTS vessel to their offshore fleet. Today, Wednesday 16 November 2011 at 14.30 hrs local time, Vroon took delivery of VOS Artemis from the Fujian Southeast Shipyard in China.

VOS Artemis is an “A class” anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel. She is the fourth in a series of six vessels being built for Vroon at this yard, with the remaining two vessels scheduled for delivery in the coming months.

The “A-class” vessel is a little more sophisticated compared to the “H-type” and “T-Type” AHTS vessels also operated by Vroon, having a bigger bow thruster (8 MT) and stern thruster (6 MT). As a result, these vessels now have much better manoeuvring and station-keeping capabilities. The VOS Artemis has a DP-1 notation.

VOS Artemis was christened by Ms Monika Krogulska, partner of Mr Rob Heijliger, Regional Head Asia Asset Based Finance, ING Bank N.V., Singapore Branch. ,in a ceremony held at the Shipyard in July,

VOS Artemis is expected to leave the yard early next week and will be operated by Vroon Offshore Services Pte Ltd in Singapore.

The company wished the vessel and her crew safe voyages.
