The Netherlands: Wim Bosman Takes LNG Trucks in Use
From November 22, Wim Bosman Transport B.V. has the first LNG truck in use.
Wim Bosman is constantly searching for improvements and opportunities to make business operations more sustainable. To this end, a total of five Mercedes-Benz Econic LNG trucks have been ordered, which will be delivered this year.
Clean and economical
The trucks drive completely on LNG (liquefied natural gas). The liquefied gas has less volume. This means that more can fit into a tank, which means the range is much greater. An LNG truck can drive up to 700 km without refilling. The trucks are equipped with a lean burn natural gas engine, which can achieve up to 50% co₂ reduction.
The advantage is that the combustion almost entirely soot dust and particulate matter is free. On term the company strives to use LBG (liquefied bio gas), which means that these LNG trucks will be driving completely co₂-neutral.
PEAK standard
The LNG trucks are not only more environmentally friendly, but also quieter than other trucks and meet the PEAK standard. This provides a substantial contribution to the reduction of noise pollution, for example, city distribution.
