The Philippines: Central Luzon Development Plans Include Dredging
The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Luzon will soon be busy revving up the engines of growth in the region.
RDC chairman Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that aside from giving priorities to the major projects of the national government, the council will also focus in completing major road networks and other facilities that will further boost economic activities in the region.
To make provinces in the region flood-free, Alvarado said the RDC will work on the revival of the Pampanga River Control System that will oversee the dredging of major rivers and other flood control canals to alleviate the region from the perennial flooding during times of bad weather conditions.
He also said that Central Luzon has excellent seaports, airports and super highways that will link it to global and domestic markets.
