Oslo-based TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) said it has signed a contract to supply a complete marine compressed air system and associated equipment to three LNG carriers that Hyundai Heavy Industries is building for TMS Cardiff Gas.

TMC’s scope of supply is to provide two control air compressors, one service air compressor, two SCR (selective catalytic reduction) compressors, two N2 (nitrogen) feed air compressors and two refrigerant air dryers for each of the vessels.

TMC did not reveal the value of the deal.

TMS Cardiff Gas has earlier this year signed a contract with South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy for the construction of three 174,000 cubic meter LNG carriers with XDF propulsion. The vessels are expected to be delivered in 2020.

The first vessel will enter into a seven-year time charter contract with Total Gas & Power Chartering, Limited, while the two others are earmarked to undisclosed oil majors.
