Cheniere Starts Construction on Sabine Pass Liquefaction Trains 3 and 4, USA

Cheniere Energy Partners said that its Board of Directors has made a positive final investment decision for the development and construction of Trains 3 and 4 of the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project being developed adjacent to the Sabine Pass LNG terminal. Cheniere Partners has issued a full notice to proceed with construction of Trains 3 and 4 to Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals.

Inpex: Ichthys LNG Project 20 Percent Complete (Australia)

Ichthys liquefied natural gas project in Australia is 20 percent complete, Reuters reported, citing Antoine Serceau, managing director of Inpex’s Ichthys project as saying.

U.S. Congressman Thornberry Introduces LNG Excise Tax Equalization Act

U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon) introduced a bill on Thursday, H.R. 2202, which would make the excise tax on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and diesel comparable on an energy-equivalent basis. Thornberry was joined by Rep. John Larson of Connecticut in introducing the “LNG Excise Tax Equalization Act of 2013” in the U.S. House of Representatives.
