1. Ocean Installer Wins Umbilical Installation Contract for Shell UK’s Bittern Field

Shell U.K. Ltd. has awarded Ocean Installer a contract for umbilical installation at the Bittern field in the UK sector of the North Sea.

2. Norway: Subsea 7 Secures USD 380 Mln Aasta Hansteen Job

Subsea 7 S.A. announced the award of a contract valued at approximately US$380 million from Statoil for the Aasta Hansteen gas field, located west of Bodø in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea.

3. UK: Reef Subsea Announces Management and Board Changes

Reef Subsea Group, a leading subsea service provider, has announced changes to its management and board with immediate effect.

4. Ceona Hires GC Rieber’s Newbuild Subsea Vessel, UK

GC Rieber Shipping ASA has entered into a charter agreement with Ceona Services (UK) Limited (“Ceona”) for its high capacity subsea newbuild for a fixed period of 5 years, with options for up to five years. The vessel will commence working for Ceona immediately upon delivery from Ulstein Verft in the first quarter of 2014.

5. Alstom’s 1MW Tidal Turbine Generates Power for First Time in Orkney, UK

Following its recent acquisition of Tidal Generation Limited from Rolls-Royce, Alstom ‘s 1MW tidal turbine generated power for the first time at the European Marine Energy Centre’s (EMEC) tidal test site in Orkney, Scotland.
