1. Canyon to Equip McDermott’s Subsea Vessel Fleet with ROV Systems

Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. announces that its Robotics subsidiary, Canyon Offshore, Inc., has reached an agreement with a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc. to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services and equipment for McDermott’s fleet of subsea construction and pipelay support vessels.

3. IMCA Updates Its Diving Guidance

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has published the ‘International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving’ (IMCA D 014), one of the key guidance documents for contractors and clients.

4. GE Launches Next-Generation BOP Program

GE Oil & Gas unveiled its next-generation blowout preventer (BOP) program that will make 20,000 pounds per square inch (20 ksi) subsea formations the next frontier in offshore oil and gas exploration.

5. Saipem Bags EPCI Contract from Petrobras in Brazil

Saipem has been awarded an EPCI contract from Petrobras for the Lula Norte, Lula Sul and Lula Extremo Sul Project, to be developed in the Santos Basin Pre-Salt Region, approximately 300 kilometres off the coasts of the Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo States.
