The Maersk Kampala, situated south of the Suez Canal, continues to fight a fire in the two foremost cargo bays of the vessel. Crew are all accounted for and safe in the accomodation area with no injuries reported.

Maersk Line yesterday confirmed that their 6,802 TEU containership Maersk Kampala had caught fire near the Suez Canal.

HHI to Build Five 18,000 TEU Ships for UASC (South Korea)

Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea (HHI) is to build five 18,000 TEU ships. In addition, there will be an option for one more. The contracts between UASC and HHI also include 5 + 6 ships of 14,000 TEU, also to DNV class.
