India: Cochin Shipyard Delivers AHTS Vessel SCI URJA

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) today delivered a 120T Bollard pull Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS), “SCI URJA”, bearing Hull No. BY-80, to The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, Mumbai (SCI).

The 145,000 gt cruise ship Norwegian BREAKAWAY, whose construction has taken merely 17 months, has left MEYER WERFT’s covered building dock II on Tuesday, 26 February 2013. The float-out of the ship, which is built for the US cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line, commenced around 7 a.m.

South Korea: Hyundai Heavy Lays Keel of Hoegh FSRU

An important milestone was reached at the keel laying of hull number 2548 at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea on 27 February 2013. The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), being built for Hoegh LNG, will be used as a floating LNG import terminal in Indonesia.

The Australian Billionaire Unveils Design Plans for Titanic II

More than a 100 years since RMS Titanic was due to berth in the United States on its grand maiden voyage, a 21st century version of the legendary passenger ship, Titanic II, is coming to New York. Blue Star Line chairman Professor Clive Palmer’s dream for Titanic II has been unveiled at a Global Launch aboard the retired aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, a national historic landmark moored in New York Harbour and now home to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.

Malaysia: Nam Cheong Seals $130 Mln Deal for Four MPSVs

Nam Cheong Limited, SGX Main Board-listed leading global offshore marine player and Malaysia’s largest Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) builder, today reported that it has entered into US$130 million worth of contracts with Armada Offshore MPSV Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bumi Armada Berhad (Bumi Armada) for the sale of four Multi-Purpose Platform Support Vessels (MPSVs).
