Tractebel Acquires Cethar Consulting Engineers, India

Tractebel Engineering (India) has acquired Cethar Consulting Engineers (CCE), the renowned and respected engineering consultancy company based at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

CCE is an ISO 9001:2008 certified consultancy organization incorporated in the year 2005. CCE has provided Engineering Consultancy services for numerous IPP and captive power plants, both in India and abroad.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sunil Mehra, Chairman & Managing Director of Tractebel Engineering said, “This acquisition makes Tractebel Engineering a key player in Thermal Power sector in India and strongly enhances the portfolio of offerings, which include Gas Pipelines, LNG, Hydro Power and T&D sectors. This acquisition also strengthens our presence in Southern India besides providing additional expertise in engineering for captive and independent power plants.”

Marc Lepièce, Tractebel Engineering’s Executive Vice President in charge of International Business Development said, “The business opportunities in the Indian market are immense. Cethar Consulting Engineers Limited (CCE) has an employee base of around 110 and will start integrating with Tractebel Engineering (India) over the next few months.
