Transocean has secured a contract for its Discoverer Seven Seas drillship.

According to the drilling contractor’s monthly fleet status report, Japan’s Inpex has exercised its one-well option offshore Indonesia at a dayrate of $500,000. Also, the drillship was awarded a one-well contract by an undisclosed customer at a dayrate of $400,000.

Discoverer Seven Seas is a self-propelled dynamically positioned vessel capable of operating in water depths up to 6,500 ft (upgradeable to 7,000 ft)

Rig sale

The company also said it sold the high-specification jack-up rig, GSF Monitor, which was previously held for sale. The details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Estimated 2014 out-of-service time increased by a net 150 days, including 91 days primarily associated with customer-requested and substantially reimbursed upgrades on the GSF Galaxy I; and 45 days on the M.G. Hulme, principally for preparation in advance of anticipated contracts.
