Trio partners on LNG solution offering

Siemens Drilling and Marine, Dresser-Rand and Lloyd’s Register joined forces to bring liquefied natural gas to customers seeking to adopt LNG as a propulsion fuel.

According to the group’s statement issued on Thursday, the solution encompasses “the entire supply chain from natural gas procurement to liquefaction and delivery of LNG to new building or retrofitting“.

Lloyd’s Register predicts significant growth in the number of LNG fueled vessels of which there are 40-50 in the world currently, the statement added.

The group will offer solutions designed and engineered by Waller Marine and The Shearer Group for the North American inland and coastal waterways that include a land-based and/or floating LNGo liquefaction barge, a 2,500 cbm LNG bunkering barge and a 4,200 or higher horsepower river Pushboat.

The vessels will be built by Conrad Industries shipyard in Texas.
