TTS Group Strengthens Its Position in Chinese Market

Through a new contract for heavy lift crane deliveries to China, TTS Group ASA has strengthened its position as a key supplier for the important Chinese market. The cranes are for use on a Cargo Training Vessel (MPCV), and will be of great importance for future training of highly educated Chinese crane operators.

TTS Group Strengthens Its Position on Chinese Market

TTS Group ASA has entered into the contract through its subsidiary TTS NMF GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. The contract includes three heavy lift cranes, with a total value of NOK 27 million (approx. USD 4.3 million).

The cranes will be used on a new training vessel owned by Dalian Maritime University in China, one of the largest and best maritime universities and the only key maritime institution under the Ministry of Transport in China. Students from this university have become the backbone of China’s shipping industry.

The contract package consists of two 240 tonne and one 50 tonne heavy lift cranes. The cranes are of a type where TTS NMF is highly experienced. Through this contract TTS NMF also otherwise has strengthened its already solid foothold in this market segment.
