Tuas Dredging Scheme Continues

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) today announced that the working period for the dredging operations at Tuas Terminal Phase One has been extended.

The works, also including land reclamation, soil investigation and shore protection, will now be conducted from 21 July, 2015, to 20 January, 2016.

This development program will be carried out by a dredger, assisted by tug boats, with a circular safety working zone of 70 m radius centered at the vessel.

Dredged material will be transported to the designated dumping ground by the hopper barges, also assisted by tug boats.

Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other crafts and vessels of the work.
