Turkish Yilport Acquires Solventas Liquid Storage Terminal

Turkish port operator Yilport Holding, a subsidiary of Yildirim Group, has obtained a 100 percent share in Turkey’s largest liquid terminal, Solventas Technical Storage, operating in Kocaeli Province.

As a result, Yilport Gebze Port and Solventas Terminal will be integrated into one liquid terminal in Dilovasi District in the Gulf of Izmir.

Yilport Gebze’s liquid terminal and Solventas will form Yilport Dilovasi Liquid Terminal, according to Yilport.

The signing ceremony took place in Istanbul on June 14, 2016.

Including Solventas, Yilport now owns and operates 23 terminals.

The handover is expected to commence following the Turkish Competition Authority’s approval.

Founded in 1967, Solventas houses 217 chemical tanks with a storage capacity of 333,000 cubic meters. The liquid storage terminal serves tankers and vessels on two quays, 273 and 235 meters in length.
