TÜV SÜD Wins EUR 1.2 Million Contract for Vattenfall’s Danish OWFs
Vattenfall has awarded TÜV SÜD with a EUR 1.2 million contract for project certification services for the developer’s Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm and Vesterhav Syd and Nord nearshore wind farms in Denmark.
According to the details from the tender award notice, TÜV SÜD beat four other offers by having the most economically advantageous bid.
Vattenfall’s 600MW Kriegers Flak wind farm is currently under construction and consists of two sections: the 200MW Kriegers Flak A (west section) and the 400MW Kriegers Flak B (east section), each with its own substation. The KFB substation, via Kriegers Flak E module, will also accommodate an interconnection between the Danish and the German grid and enable the exchange of renewably sourced power.
Kriegers Flak is expected to become operational by 2022.
The construction of the Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord wind farms, which will comprise 41 Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines, is expected to begin in 2019 at the offshore site outside Hvide Sande and Thyborøn on the west coast of Jutland.
The wind farms are scheduled for commissioning in 2020.
