UK: Atlantic Array Public Exhibitions to Start

From July 12 a series of public exhibitions starts along the North Devon and South Wales coasts, regarding revised plans for the Atlantic Array Offshore Wind Farm.

The new proposal from RWE npower renewables includes asmaller number of turbines, from the initially proposed 417 to the currently presented 278, thus the horizontal spread and density of the scheme, as well as its impact on the seascape, are reduced.

Furthermore, the environmental assessments and more detailed engineering work have been completed. Along with feedback from the public consultation, it led to revisions of the development, the North Devon Gazette informs.

Stanley Bank area, located north of Lundy, has been identified as the preferred location for the development.

New proposal will be presented in Abbotsham, Barnstaple, Woolacombe, Bideford, Croyde, Alverdiscott and Ilfracombe.
