UK: David Eason Steps Down as Chairman of TAG Group

David Eason Steps Down as Chairman

Creator of the TAG Group of companies, David Eason, has stepped down as Chairman, to pursue other interests. David has agreed to remain in the role of Founder and will continue to support TAG as its founding shareholder.

David first created the TAG group of companies in 2006 and was responsible for several major milestones in TAG’s development including the regeneration of its Haverton Hill site in Billingham, the successful award and construction of offshore projects and the successful pursuit of inward investment to build its automated tubular production facility that saw TAG re-focus its business to be able to meet the demand for offshore wind farm foundation structures.

A champion of local industry and with a long history of having created employment and opportunities throughout Teesside, David said “I am delighted with all that TAG has achieved over the years and its on-going success is of paramount importance to me. Having redeveloped the Haverton Hill site from its humble beginnings to the fantastic, state-of-the-art facility it is today and put in place the world-class management team it now boasts, it is something I can take huge pride in.”

David has been succeeded as Chairman by experience engineering industry professional Mike Foster. Mike was, until 2011, Chief Executive Officer of FTSE 250 company, Charter International plc where he had been on the board since 2000, initially as a Non-Executive Director, before becoming CEO in 2006.

David continued, “I am grateful to TAG’s investors at Platina and ETF for having the courage and foresight to back the vision that we had for TAG in 2010 and I am delighted to continue to remain involved with TAG as its Founder. I am pleased to welcome TAG’s new chairman, Mike Foster, and firmly believe that his knowledge, experience and understanding of the industry will be a significant benefit to TAG and its management team.”

Sam Goss, Investment Director at Platina Partners said “On behalf of TAG, its management team and its investors, I’d like to thank David for his contribution to TAG over many years. TAG is pleased that David has agreed to remain in the position of Founder in order that it can rely on his support.”
