The Ferguson Group, specialists in the rental of containers and accommodation and engineering modules to the offshore energy industry around the world, has appointed Haakon Andersen, Chairman, Ferguson Seacabs, and Mike Salter, Chairman Ferguson Modular Ltd, to the main Ferguson Group Board.

They both have considerable knowledge of the Ferguson Group and offer extensive experience gained at director level in other companies.

Mr Andersen joined Ferguson Group in 1999 as Chairman of Ferguson Norge A/S, later taking on the additional role as Chairman for all of the Seacabs companies in UK, Norway, Australia and Singapore. He has over 40 years experience in the oil industry as managing director for companies worldwide. Mr Andersen previously acted as a senior advisor for the government of Western Australia and has held other senior roles including non-executive board member of KCA Deautag Drilling Norway A/S, Managing Director of Swire Oilfield Services (Norway), Chairman of DeepOcean Subsea Services A/S and Board member of Balmoral Norge A/S from 1995 to 2006.

Mr Salter joined Ferguson Modular in 2006 initially as an advisor to the Board and then moving to the role of Chairman of Ferguson Modular Ltd. He has a long history of top-level leadership in the oil and gas industry both in Scotland and internationally.

Within a number of key industry companies he has served at an executive level in the last thirty years, including Bawden Drilling (UK) Ltd and Smedvig Ltd, and was Chief Operating Officer of Abbot Group PLC before retiring in July 2007. Until recently he was non-executive Chairman of ASCO Group Ltd and of Red Spider Technology Ltd. He is currently Chairman of Scottish Chambers of Commerce and holds non-executive and advisory roles with ATR Group Ltd and CQS Rig Finance Fund. He is a past President of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
