UK public hugely in favor of renewables

Renewables continue to receive high levels of support from the UK public, according to the most recent survey conducted by DECC.

The data collected between December 10, 2014 and January 8, 2015 show that 76% (over three quarters of UK adults) of population support the use of renewables to generate electricity, fuel and heat in the UK.

Levels of support for renewable energy sources separately also remain stable, when compared to the September 2014 report , with wave and tidal energy sources amounting to 74%, onshore wind 68%, offshore wind 74%, and solar 81%.

The data was collected using using face-to-face in-home interviews with a representative sample of 2.119 households in the UK.
