UK: Vivienne Cox Joins BG Group

BG Group has today announced the appointment of Vivienne Cox as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointment, BG Group Chairman Sir Robert Wilson said: “I am delighted to welcome Vivienne on to the BG Group Board. Vivienne’s extensive experience and expertise, across many facets of the global energy industry, will be a valuable addition to our Board.”

Other than as noted below, Vivienne Cox has held no directorships in publicly quoted companies in the past five years.

Vivienne Cox is the former Executive Vice President of Gas, Power and Renewables and former Chief Executive of BP Alternative Energy. Vivienne worked for BP plc from 1981 to 2009, serving in a variety of posts in Britain and continental Europe ranging from supply and trading, to commercial, finance and exploration and renewable energy. Vivienne was appointed as Chairman of Climate Change Capital in November 2009. She also serves as a non-executive director of Rio Tinto plc, Pearson plc and Vallourec SA.

Vivienne is a non-executive director of the Department for International Development (DFID), and also serves on its Ministerial Board, and is the Patron of the St Francis Hospice Charity, UK.
