UK: Wind Turbine Component Collapses at Belfast Harbour

UK Wind Turbine Component Collapses at Belfast Harbour

Last week a wind turbine tower section fell on a vehicle at Belfast Harbour, writes Belfast Telegraph.

Northern Ireland’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the independent work-related health and safety regulator, is investigating this incident where, fortunately, no one was hurt.

Siemens and Dong Energy have been using Belfast Harbour to assemble turbine components for the 389MW West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.

Siemens commented that this will not delay the construction of the 389MW West of Duddon Sands offshore wind farm.
