SVL Liberty Starts Sea Trials

A month before the planned period, the first m/v “SVL Liberty” of tanker series project RST 27, went for sea trials. The trials are taking place within the 12 miles zone in the area of cape Tarkhankut and have been planned for five days, Kherson Shipyard informed.

Some 35 persons will take part in the trials, including the representatives of the Kherson Shipyard, the acceptance inspectors, the representatives of the Customer and the Marine Register of Shipping, along with the contractors.

During the sea trials,  rolling and maneuvering characteristics of the vessel will be specified, followed by testing of the Anchor Gear at a depth up to 100 metres as well as checking of the radio navigating equipment in operation.

Two more tankers of the project are undergoing different stages of fabrication at the company. In addition, 21 vessels are under repair, whereas 4 vessels are to be upgraded.
