Q1 Gas Transit via Ukraine to Western Europe Down 19.2 Percent

According to the operation data of the United Dispatching Centre of Affiliated  Company “Ukrtransgaz”, the company transmitted 45.6 billion m3 during the first quarter of 2012, that is 11.4 % less than in 2011.

Natural gas transit across territory of Ukraine to the countries of Western Europe during the first quarter of 2012 was 24.5 billion m3, that is 19.2 % less than in 2011. At the same time all orders of importing countries are fulfilled in corpore.

Natural gas transmission for Ukrainian customers during the first quarter of this year amounted 20.6 billion m3, that is 0.8 % less than in 2011.

In March of this year the natural gas transit across territory of Ukraine to the countries of Western Europe totaled 6.4 billion m3, that is 35% less than in 2011.

According to Vadym Frolov, the Chief Engineer of the United Dispatching Centre of Affiliated  Company “Ukrtransgaz”, decrease of transit volumes in March was caused by high temperature regime in the countries, importing natural gas.
