Update: Four Bodies Recovered from Sunkern Ship off Taiwan

Four bodies of thirteen missing crew members have been recovered a week after their cargo ship sank off Taiwan on March 30th.

Nine people are still missing, Xinhua news agency informs citing data released by Fujian Maritime Safety Administration.

The ship, identified as Zhenhe 168, went down off Tiawan’s Xiquan Island around 5 a.m. Monday. The wreckage was found on the same day.

During the search and rescue operations that entered their seventh day, three bodies were found at the ship’s cabin between 4th and 6th of April, while the fourth was retrieved by Taiwan’s authorities on April 5th, Xinhua reported.

The cause of the incident is being investigated.
