Bonita Springs City Council Establishes Beach Renourishment Fund

As News-press reports, the Bonita Springs City Council voted 7-0 yesterday to adopt an ordinance establishing a Little Hickory Island beach renourishment fund.

This money may not be used for other purposes without the vote of at least five council members.

The Bonita Beach Alliance had pushed for the fund, which was proposed by Councilman Steven Slachta with the assistance of former Councilman Bob Wagner.

We do feel our little island is a special place that sometimes needs special consideration and we’re looking for your help in doing this,” Marty Roach, Bonita Beach Alliance member and Little Hickory Island resident, said before the vote.
